It's official...Hungary, here I come!

I have just purchased my airfare to Budapest, Hungary for the Simonyi International Consulting Program this Summer. It was still questionable if I was going to go, because of finances and such, but now everything is official.

I will be leaving Columbus June 15, traveling to Budapest (via JFK) 5,000 miles away. This is the Tuesday after my final exam week; hopefully I will be able to schedule my exams early in the week so I can get home and pack. I will be spending six weeks in Pecs, Hungary with an internship at the Simonyi Center for Entrepreneurship, Applied Education, and Regional Development.

The Simonyi Center in Pecs, Hungary facilitates the transformation of Hungarian and Eastern European economies from a port-socialist to a western capitalist approach. The Simonyi Center offers business development and assistance services to entrepreneurs and organizations of Pecs and the surrounding regions in the fields of cultural arts, sciences, and innovation, as well as business.

Through classroom curriculum and real-world application, I will be working on consulting projects with businesses in an international environment, which is what I am most interested in doing for a career. This will be an incredible adventure and amazing experience that will surely impact my future.

I have just under two months until I leave. Each and every day my excitement increases and so does the realization that I need to begin getting ready. I guess I should start now...

Have a most spectacular day!
